Volunteers

South Fayette Soccer Association is in need of volunteers!


South Fayette Soccer Association is a volunteer organization and is actively recruiting volunteers for a variety of duties.

The current SFSA Board of Directors consists of ten "volunteer" members who have to coordinate the over 600 children who register for soccer every season!  Some non-board members also help out with various duties such as uniform distribution and fundraising.

As our community continues to grow, the number of volunteers needed grows too.  As board members "age out" when their children outgrow the program, there is an ongoing need for new representatives from younger age groups especially. 

Starting in Fall 2023, all families will be required to either volunteer time or pay a non-volunteer fee of $50 per season.  Please consider volunteering with this fun organization and help shape the way our youth will learn and appreciate the game of soccer!!

 

Be a Coach or Referee!

  • SFSA is always in need of coaches, assistant coaches and referees.
  • Coaches and assistant coaches must be parents with clearances.
  • In-house referees must be age 12 or up.

Volunteer Roles


Available Volunteer Roles during Registration:

 

  • Head coach

  • Assistant coach

  • Field lining (time commitment - 2-3 hours per season, training will be provided)

  • Age group coordinators (creating teams, scheduling, communicating with coaches)

  • South Fayette Soccer Association support for board activities

  • Referee in the family (must be active)


South Fayette Soccer Association support for board activities includes:

 

  • Registration set up

  • PA West registration

  • Web site, email, social media

  • Uniforms (travel, in house)

  • Training/skills clinic organization

  • Travel evaluations (organization, registration)

  • Field coordinator

  • Field lining

  • Age group coordinator and support

  • Marketing, advertising and communications

  • Community Day booth

  • In house photographer coordination

    • Work with vendor

  • Travel photographer (new)

    • Professional team photos

    • Action photos, available for sale



SFSA Board Member Positions:

 

  • Time commitment: 1-2 hour board meeting 1x per month plus duties for specific roles.
  • SFSA Board meetings are held on the third Sunday every month at 7:00pm, virtually. 
  • Voting board members are expected to attend board meetings regularly.

Specific Positions Available and Associated Duties:


Marketing and Communications Coordinator 

  • Part of Secretary/Registrar roles if no separate volunteer

  • Maintains SFSA web site

  • Posts relevant information and announcements on Facebook site

  • Advertises registration and other announcements through various channels in the community

  • Answers emails to [email protected] (or addresses Contact Us emails)

  • Organizes booth at SF Community Day and other community events
