About SFSA Travel Evaluations

• SFSA employs independent evaluators, Pittsburgh Soccer Academy (PSA), to provide unbiased assessments of skills, ensuring fair placement on travel teams.
• The evaluations are crucial for placing children on teams that match their skill levels.
• Please note that these sessions are evaluations, not tryouts, but attendance is necessary to qualify for team placement.
• For a more precise evaluation of a player's abilities, SFSA recommends attending at least two of the three evaluation sessions.
• Evaluations are mandatory for travel soccer participation. Players who miss evaluations must petition the Board in person or via email, explaining valid reasons, such as a recent move to the district or an injury preventing participation.

Eligibility Requirements

All children born between August 1, 2014 and July 31, 2018 who are interested in playing SFSA travel soccer for the Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027 seasons must participate in at least one of the three scheduled evaluation sessions to be eligible.

Note: There are no evaluations for the U14 Age Group or for in-house programs.

Evaluation Sign-Up Instructions

SFSA requests that families sign up for evaluation session(s) using the form below. Although sign-up is not mandatory, it assists the SFSA Board and evaluators.

Evaluation Location, Dates/Times and Equipment

• Location: All evaluations will be held at Hogan Field at Boys Home Park in South Fayette.
• Arrive approximately 30 minutes before the evaluation to sign in.
• All parents must stay on the sidelines during evaluations. Please refrain from coaching players.
• All players are required to bring an inflated soccer ball, preferably size 4, a drink, and wear shin guards and cleats.

Additional Information on Upcoming Program Registration

• Official Registration will open via southfayettesoccer.org on May 3rd.
• Attendance at an evaluation does not require prior program registration. Once registration opens, families should register for the program they wish to participate in.
• All players must complete the SFSA registration process once it opens on May 3rd.
• SFSA is in the process of refreshing the travel uniform kit. SFSA will hold a few try-on sessions in late May or early June. Dates will be communicated accordingly. Each player will be required to purchase the travel uniform kit.
